Progessives Unite! We must help the Iraqi people and our troops

George Bush and his band of merry morons have demonstrated they are incapable or unwilling to win the war in Iraq.

They were happy to destroy the country, but couldn't find it in their shriveled little hearts to help keep people alive afterwards.

I have had enough. If Bush can't lead then we need to.

I am starting D.I.I.S.O.T (Defend Innocent Iraqis and Support Our Troops). Membership is open any ideas and help is much appreciated.

I am not going to sit by in my comfortable living room while my elected representatives let people die for no reason.

I clicked through from "Pissed On Politics" blog, this looks like something I would be interested in. Is there a plan?

Hey Blackcat,

Thanks for stopping by. This is only in the idea phase, but I am more and more committed as time goes by.

I want to start with 2 letters. One to congress demanding a review of Iraq policy and the other an apology to the Iraqi people and a promise we will not abandon them. Then we get as many signatures as we can.

I have been trying to draft these letters over the weekend. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Kenny, I have some ideas if you don't mind.

Okay here we go:

Find an Arab-American who recently migrated to the US from the Middle East, and do an interview asking them if they think Bush's policy will ultimate work and if it is working right now. And have them thoroughly explain their answer. This will help you draft the first letter about the Iraq Policy. If you don't have time just read some articles from some foreign policy websites.

Thanks for the suggestion Sam. I am not getting much traction with this idea. But, I am not giving up yet.

Its a good idea. what got to me is when you said how could you sit in your comfortable living room while innocent people die.
You know, this goes both ways.. there are innocent Iraqi people and innocent U.S. troops who dont want to be there, but are / were tricked into this illegal war by zealous recruiters.
Congress is being inundated with letters, I dont know how you could attract their attention. Perhaps a smaller venue, ie: your own representatives first.
then, theres always the various "media".

Well Cat,
The 4 of us should be enough to get this thing started.

Everyone send me an email so we can start discussing this.

Thanks
