Democrats must force the Republican Senate's hand

The Republican Senate is built on one last house of cards. The nuclear option. The idea is dead, but Democrats haven't figured it out yet. The Nuclear option is built on the premise that a popular President is being obstructed by an unpopular minority party.

The truth on the ground is far from that. The vast majority of the public wants President Bush's hands tied. We think he's incompetent. He gets no more free rides.

Now, we want to show the American people that the Republicans in the Senate are a "rubber stamp" right. What a better way is there then forcing them to try and change the Senate rules to give themselves more power?

This is the biggest weapon we have right now. We need to make sure our people use it. Call your Democratic Senators today. Do it.

I don't know what to think any more Kenny.

I am not sure the Democrats have not figured it out.

One thing I have noticed is Democrats just don't get any air time.

Do we really know what they are talking about or planning?

I am sure you saw the bull shit that happened today with the Democrats wanting to define a strategy in Iraq, the Republicans blocking it, and the the Republicans passing some sort of lame ass resolution calling on the President to come up with an Iraq plan that was non-binding.

Then the Republicans paraded around as if they were the ones demanding an Iraq Strategy.

Look at Cheney today. He was touting the Republican Propaganda that Democrats who voted for the War and are now criticizing the President and demanding an investigation into pre war intelligence are in some way:

A) Putting the troops in danger...

B) Are un-American

There are a lot of things the Democrats need to do and say including as you brought up realizing that the nuclear option is dead.

However, the Democrats could and may realize these things and yet, even if they voice their concerns and opinions, they get drounded out by the Republican Noise Machine.

We really have no voice left except the blogs IMO.

Network news wont cover the truth. All they do is repeat Republican talking points and sound bites.

I agree we must continue to call our representives and ask them to speak out.

But if they speak out and no one covers it then it is left to us to get the message out.
